Company Training is FUN for EVERYONE!

Friday, January 22, 2010

Sunetric recently committed to and paid for four full days of voluntary training for all employees.

We are a big company with a lot of employees – a rarity among solar companies on the Island. At Sunetric, we have our own full-time sales, installation and design/engineering teams – we do not rely on sub-contractors.

Because our installers interact frequently with our customers and are always approached by interested neighbors we thought we’d invite them to sales training. It is a priority of ours that the design/engineering teams understand how the deals arrive and why there is sometimes less than perfect information… so, we invited them to sales training too!

To be fair, we had the solar consultants (our sales people) and installers learn the design process too, which helped everyone better understand our business, how things are done, and why we follow the procedures we follow.

Ways to Acheive Load Reduction

Tuesday, January 12, 2010

Perhaps one of the biggest advantages of working with a full-service company like Sunetric is our innate ability to see the whole picture when it comes to a project. So, in addition to helping you chose the solar system that best matches your needs our experts can provide guidance on ways to augment the work of your installation with various load reduction tips.

Households can achieve a noticeable energy load reduction by using sunshine to generate light without mechanical or electrical devices.  It is oftentimes considered in addition to a solar system installation, and is usually part of the design of the building itself – using certain materials and paying close attention to the placement of windows, skylights, and high activity rooms.

South-facing windows can be shaded by an overhanging roof or awning to keep out the high hot sun. Depending on the climate and the design, as much as 100 percent of a building’s heating and cooling needs can be provided by the sun.

Here is a helpful article on Load Reduction and other Passive Solar Design produced for the Department of Energy by the National Renewable Energy Laboratory.
