The Electric Drive Transportation Association (EDTA), the preeminent national industry group committed to advancing electric drive technologies, has elected Alex Tiller, CEO of Sunetric and Autowatts, to its 2013-2014 Board of Directors.
Tiller will join the Washington, D.C.-based association’s members, ranging from equipment manufacturers to technology developers, in the promotion of electric transportation technologies as a key way to reduce America’s dependence on oil and preserve the environment.
“We find ourselves at a historic moment in time for personal transportation. The combination of electric drive technology advances and price compression in battery and solar costs now means that electric vehicles (EVs) are more than just a viable alternative for eco-folks. Combining EV with PV is one of the best financial decisions a family can make, no matter where they live. We are on the edge of something that will ultimately change the way we fuel our personal mobility.” Tiller went on to say, “Hawai‘i is the tip of the spear for electric vehicles adoption per capita in the US, and we want to take the lessons we’ve learned here on the islands and share them with everyone.”
Tiller, who has served as CEO of Sunetric since early 2010, was named as one of the 2011 “Forty Under 40” by Pacific Business News and as “Executive of the Year” by Pacific Edge Magazine in 2012. Tiller graduated from Northeastern University in Boston with a bachelor’s degree in business administration and attended executive training at the Kellogg School of Business at Northwestern University.
